What runs on NOMAD Central
NOMAD Central deploys a curated set of plugins maintained by FAIRmat and the community. Together they cover the codes, file formats, methods, and analysis tools available out of the box.
Why NOMAD is different
NOMAD is not about sharing files, it is about sharing data and making data FAIR. All data is organized in well-defined structures described by a formal schema. That schema is what enables search, APIs, interoperability, and analysis.

Structured data and Metainfo

All data in NOMAD follows a schema that defines how data is hierarchically structured and cross-referenced. This schema is called the NOMAD Metainfo. It covers general domain-independent structures and detailed, method-specific content.

Analysis tools (NORTH)

Because all data is uniformly organized, you can use existing tools or build your own to analyze data from any source. The NOMAD Remote Tools Hub (NORTH) runs containerized tools and Jupyter notebooks directly on your data.
